It is shown that the $p$-part of the class number of the lower layers of a cyclotomic $\mathbb Z_{p}$-extension can grow exponentially.
Abstract
It is shown that the $p$-part of the class number of the lower layers of a cyclotomic $\mathbb Z_{p}$-extension can grow exponentially.
