패션 전시에 나타난 미래 패션디자인의 유형과 가치

Abstract

As the interest of the future has increased along with the issue of the 4th Industrial Revolution, various exhibitions about the future has been held in domestic and foreign art museums. Accordingly, this study analyzed the types and values of the future design from designs in the latest fashion exhibitions about the future. The study searched for fashion exhibitions within three years because of the rapid change of the age and collected large scale exhibitions held in famous museums abroad and international exhibitions that current designers of various nationalities participated in order to understand the global trend. The types of design were classified according to the common characteristics of collected cases, and the values of future design were derived by combining the classified types and keywords of the exhibitions. The searched exhibitions of future topics are four in total : ‘The Future of Fashion is Now’, ‘Utopian Bodies’, ‘Techstyle’, and ‘Manus × Machina’. The common types of design were classified as six types : the printing design using 3D or digital technology, the processing material design using laser cutting or physical deformation, the interaction design utilizing smart or transformable characteristics, the design utilizing lights such as LED or laser, the social design about environmental problem or underprivileged people, and the structural design exploring experimental molding. These designs were analyzed that they intend to extend interactive experiences and usabilities, to consider sustainability for the future environment, and to pursue the value of convergence in various fields and creative innovation. This study will contribute to infer the tendency of the future design by analyzing cases at the boundary between the present and the future, and to recognize the importance of the design to reflect the current trends.
