미도를 이용한 정량적 색채 배색에 관한 실험 연구

우리가 살아가는 세상은 색과 색의 배색과 조화로 이루어져 있다고 해도 과언이 아니다. 이렇듯 두 가지 이상의색이 배열된 ‘배색’은 색과 색의 조화를 고려해서 선택해야 하므로 공공환경에서 색채를 효과적으로 배색하기위해서는 개인의 직관성에만 의존하지 않고, 색채 이론과 기능에 입각한 사고를 해야 한다. 이러한 관점에서문·스펜서의 미도(美度)는 정량화된 값으로 조화로운 배색을 하는 방법을 제시하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는문·스펜서의 미도(이하 이론적 미도) 값과 실험 참여자로부터 얻은 미도(이하 실험적 미도) 값을 통계적으로 검정하여 이를 통해 오늘날 배색 분야에 미도 측정값을 적용할 수 있는지 과학적으로 확인해 보고함이 연구의 목적이다. 연구 방법은 이론적 미도 값의 최대, 최소 미도 값에 대한 배색 시편을 제작하여 실험을 통해 이론적미도 값과 실험적 미도 값의 차이를 통계 프로그램 R을 사용하여 검정한다. 연구 결과, 배색 시편 10개 중 8개의 시편에서 차이가 있었다. 색상과 채도는 유사의 범위, 명도는 동등의 범위에서 차이가 났으며, 연령별로는20대와 40대의 값이 유사했다. 본 연구는 1944년 문·스펜서의 연구를 유일한 근거로 하여 전개한 연구로서의한계점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 오늘날 색채의 미도에 관여되는 문화적 배경, 정서적 변수, 조사 대상자의 인구통계학적 구분 등의 변수를 고려한 연구가 필요하다. 그러므로 향후 본 연구의 결과를 활용하여 공공환경에서색채 가이드라인을 제시한 서울색의 조화로운 배색에 관한 연구가 진행되어야 할 것이다. 연구로 얻어진 결과는배색에서 가장 기본이 되는 2색 배색을 할 때 참고할 수 있는 기초 자료로써 활용할 수 있다.
Abstract
It is no exaggeration to say that the world we live in consists of color and color combinations and harmony. As such, ‘Color Combination’ in which more than two kinds of colors are arranged should be selected in consideration of the color and color harmony, so in order to effectively color combination the colors in the public environment, it is necessary to consider based on the color theory and the function, not just depending on only the intuition of the individual. From this point of view, the aesthetic measure of Moon and Spencer (aesthetic measure) suggests a method to have harmonious coloring with quantified values. Therefore, the purpose of this study statistically test the value of Moon and Spencer's aesthetic measure value (hereafter theoretical aesthetic measure) and the value obtained from the experiment participants (hereafter, experimental aesthetic measure), and report it after scientifically confirming if we can apply the aesthetic measure measurement value also in today’s color combination fields through this. The research method is to verify this by using statistical program R the differences between the theoretical and experimental values through an experiment by producing color combination specimen for the maximum, minimum aesthetic measure value of theoretical aesthetic measure value. As a result, there was differences in 8 specimens among the specimens of 10 color combination. Color and saturation were different in the range of similarity, and brightness in the equivalent range, and the values in 20s and 40s were similar by age. This study has limitations as a research that was developed as the sole basis of the study of Moon and Spencer in 1944. Therefore, it is necessary to study considering the cultural background, emotional variables, and the demographic grouping of the subject which are concerned with the aesthetic measure of today’s color. Therefore, it is necessary to study the harmonious color combination of Seoul color which suggested color guideline in the public environment by using the results of this study in the future. The data obtained by the research can be used as a basic data to be used when two-color combination, which is the most basic in color combination, is performed.
