본 연구는 대학생의 친환경 태도와 의복관리행동을 알아보고, 친환경 태도에 따른 의복관리행동의 차이를 파악하기 위해 실시되었다. 피험자는 남녀 대학생 300명이며, 연구방법은 설문조사 방법이었다. 설문지는 친환경태도, 의복관리행동, 피험자의 인구통계학적 특성문항으로 구성되었으며, 자료분석으로는 빈도분석, x2 test, 요인분석, 군집분석, ANOVA와 Duncan의 다중범위검정이 실시되었다. 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 친환경 태도의 구성차원으로는 친환경 의식과 친환경 운동 참여의 2요인이 도출되었으며, 대학생들은 친환경 의식은 높으나, 친환경 운동 참여는 낮은 수준을 보였다. 둘째, 의복관리행동을 조사한 결과, 남녀 대학생들은 소유한 의복의 활용수준이 낮았으며, 세탁에 대한 경험과 학습이 부족하여 자원을 낭비하고 환경오염을 일으키는 잘못된 세탁행동을 보이는 경향이 큰 것으로 나타났다.보관행동은 세탁행동에 비해서는 비교적 잘 수행하는 편이었으나, 장기간 보관을 위한 세탁 및 분류행동은 미흡한 것으로 드러났다. 셋째, 친환경 태도에 따라 분류된 대학생 집단은 대부분의 의복관리행동에서 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았으며, 일부 세탁행동과 보관행동에서만 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 본 연구결과, 대학생들은 친환경 의식은 높으나, 환경운동 참여는 미미한 수준이었으며, 의복관리에 대한 학습과 경험의 부족으로 효율적이고 지속가능한 의복관리행동을 수행하지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 지속가능한 의복관리행동에 대한 구체적인 가이드라인을 제시하고, 이를 초·중·고등학교와 대학교 시기에 이론뿐 아니라 실습 교육프로그램을 통해 실천할 수 있는 방안이 마련되어야 하리라 판단된다.
Abstract
The purposes of this study were to investigate eco-friendly attitudes and clothing management behaviors of university students, and to identify the differences in clothing management behaviors based on eco-friendly attitudes. The subjects were 300 male and female university students and the research method was a survey. The data were analyzed using frequency analysis, x2 test, factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA and Duncan’s multiple range test. The results were as follows. First, two factors (eco-friendly awareness and eco-friendly behavior) were derived based on eco-friendly attitudes. Second, college students showed low levels of efficient and sustainable clothing management behaviors in terms of usage, laundry, and storage behaviors. They had especially insufficient skills about laundry but were highly aware of the need for clothing management. Third, there were no significant differences in clothing management behaviors among subgroups classified by eco-friendly attitude, except for a few laundry and storage factors. This study concluded that clear guidelines for clothing management behavior must be established and to educational programs that can be applied to real life must be developed in order to implement a rational and sustainable clothing lifestyle.
