대학생을 위한 비교과 영어 프로그램의 효과 사례연구: 1:1 밀착 수업 지도를 중심으로

This study aims to explore the effect of extracurricular English programmes in university education, focusing on one-on-one based instructors’ classes. The programme was designed to help university students improve their English reading and writing skills, including English grammar, through an extracurricular programme taught by Korean instructors for an eight-week period. Surveys were conducted before and after the programme. The participants’ English competence was measured by tests prior to and at the end of the programme. The results show that one-on-one based extracurricular English lessons are highly preferred by the students and help students achieve better English reading and writing skills. These lessons also help students gain confidence and motivation to study English. The study suggests the need for conducting extracurricular programmes at university to help students with their regular courses, as well as the need to include a variety of courses in the schedule to complement the program.

Abstract
