지역문화에 대한 연구가 학문적 의미를 지니게 하기 위해서는 지역에 대한 구체적 ‘이해’를 토대로 지역문화에 일정한 ‘기여’를 하는 것으로 궁극적 목표를 삼는 것이 좋을 것이다. 지역에 대한 구체적 ‘이해’와 ‘기여’를 위해서는 지역문화와연관된 컨텐츠 개발과 같은 것이 우선적으로 시도될 수 있을 터이다. 컨텐츠 개발의 대전제는 기존 자료에 대한 해석과 활용이라고 할 때, 효율적 컨텐츠 개발을 위해서는 무엇보다도 지역문화 관련 자료의 확보와 정리가 시급하다는 점을강조할 수 있다. 이에 이 논문에서는 도봉지역과 관련된 구비문학 자료 중 기존의 채록된 설화 자료를 개략적으로 살펴보았다. 기존 설화 자료를 성격별로 구분해 보면 자연물의 유래와 관련된 설화, 도성과의 인접성이 드러난 설화, 지역 인물과의 관련성이 드러난 설화로 나누어 볼 수있다. 이들 자료는 도봉구 또는 도봉지역이 지닌 특수성, 즉 서울과 지방 사이의경계적 성격, 대도시와 중소도시 사이의 중간적 성격, 혹은 도성과의 인접성 등을일정하게 반영하고 있다. 따라서 인접 지역과의 폭넓은 관련을 인정하면서 유연한 시각으로 접근할 때 그 특수성을 올바르게 이해할 수 있게 된다. 본고에서 시도한 자료 해석 작업이 지역문화에 대한 ‘이해’와 ‘기여’를 구체적으로 수행하기 위해서는 무엇보다도 자료의 확보와 정리가 필요하다고 생각한다. 좀더 체계적이고 치밀한 현지조사 및 자료 정리 작업이 이루어질 것을 기대한다.
Abstract
The ultimate purpose of the study on regional culture has to be based on definiteunderstanding for it and contribute to it. So the study can have worth of its academicalmeaning through it. For the definite understanding and contribution of the region,developing contents related to regional culture could be tried first. If we considerthat the prerequisite of the development are interpretations and utilizations existingdata, we can notice that we should procure and arrange the data related to regionalculture very urgently. In this thesis, I study existing oral literature data related toDobong region. The existing data could be classified by its nature- folktales related to origin ofnatural object, show adjacency to the capital and related to regional people. Thesedata reflect specialties of Dobong-ku or Dobong region such as boundarycharacteristics between the capital and local, middle characteristics between big cityand smaller town or adjacencies to the capital. We should close to the data by arecognition about wide relations with the neighboring areas maintaining a flexibleviewpoint. We can understand the regional specialties properly in result. I concludeby upper interpreting work that the procure and arrangement the data are need todefinite understand and contribute to regional culture. I hope more systematic anddetailed on-site survey and arrangement the data will be made up after.
