탈북청소년 정체성 확립을 위한 기독교 선교 방안 - 기독교 대안학교 중심으로

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate How national/ language identity and Korean culture/ social identity affect the North Korean refugee youths’ psychology and emotion and school life, and to examine the degree of how the education provided in ‘the residential Christian alternative school’ contributes positively to the settlement of North Korean refugee youths in South Korea. This study was conducted with surveying North Korean refugee youths who stayed in two residential Christian alternative schools in Seoul. The questionnaires were distributed to 130 NorthKorean refugee youths selected for the survey. 123 of them were collected and used. For the data analyses, this study adopted Frequency Analysis, Exploratory Factor Analysis, Cronbach’s , t-test, One way AN-OVA, Pearson’s correlation, multiple regression analysis. The results of this study showed that although the education and care are given to North Korean refugee youths through the Christian alternative school program, they still face identity confusion in multidimensional and holistic dimensions. Thess difficulties are due to national belonging sense, language communication problems, cultural maladjustment, questions about their identity in the life cycle development process. As for the establishment of identity, this researcher suggested four mission strategies in order to overcome the crisis faced by North Korean refugee youths. These strategies are to solve practical problems, to improve their adaptability in South Korean society, and to establish a proper system of worldview, country, language, culture and Christian identity. They are ‘Mission to sustain the education,’ ‘Mission to support Cultural Adaptation,’ ‘Mission to support holistic growth (physical, mental, emotional, soul, relationship),’ ‘Mission to develop the Next-generation miss- ion resource for North Korean missions.’
