The purpose of this paper is to propose the methods of assessment on education on history of Korean language life. But this mention have several restrictions. In education on the history of Korean language life, the objective, the curriculum, and the method of teaching and learning are not settled yet scientifically. In spite of this situation, the assessment of this field is very important and necessary. In this paper the method of assessment depend on performance assessment mainly. Because the knowledge on this field is different from the knowledge of Korean grammar in character, general examination questions are not appropriate for this assessment. Dividing the objective of assessment into knowledge, inquiry, attitude, this paper make effort to research into appropriate methods of assessment according to each objective.
