김종문의 시세계와 전후 모더니즘시의 변모

Abstract

In this paper, I tried to examine the world of Kim Jong-moon's poetry, which showed representative war poetry in the 1950s until the 1960s. Although it is a study of individual poets, it is expected that this will give us a more continuous view of the 1950s and 1960s, which were dealt with separately in the study of modern poetry. Kim Jong-moon was evaluated as an intermediate position, not a “life wave(saengmyeongpa; 생명파)” or modernism, and he made a straightforward discussion of modern anxiety with subtle modernist ideas and expressions. From his early poetry, he was aware of the discord and separation of the self and the world, and revealed his self-consciousness as an artist through various symbols, mythical materials, and metaphors, and attempted to create a modern fragmentary landscape viewed by the artist's gaze with intelligence. In this article, I would like to open the world of colours with Kim Jong-moon's poems published in the 1950's and 60's focused on experimental images of war and humanism, the inner landscape of artists woven with a intellectual attitude, and criticism of modernity in the modern long poetry. His personality and peculiarity can be found in that he showed his concern about the middle ground between society and art by not only experimenting with images but also focusing on innerity and existence as an artist.
