중용으로 본 백석 시

본 연구는 백석 시에 나타나는 중용의 덕과 그 의미를 살피는 것에 목적을 두었다. 백석 시에 나타나는 중용의 덕은 愼獨의 中庸, 自得의 中庸, 存在의 中庸으로 펼쳐진다. 먼저, 신독의 중용은 남이 보이지 않는 곳에서 자신의 영혼에 충실한 삶의 모습이다. 신독의 중용적 삶은 순수하고 바른 마음이 대상이 되고 있다. 백석의 시에서 신독은 고독의 심연에서 우주적 존재와 끊임없이 개방적으로 해후한다. 다음으로, 자득의 중용은 어떤 삶이 다가와도 흔들리지 않고 그 상황에 적합한 삶의 중심을 찾아내며 살아가는 모습이다. 백석 시에서 일상은 삶의 변화를 조화롭게 표출하며 자기중심을 잃지 않고 살아가는 중용적 삶의 근거가 되고 있다. 자득의 중용적 삶은 발생한 일이나 상황의 제시를 통해 전개된다. 마지막으로, 존재의 중용은 우주적 삶을 살아가는 인간의 삶의 방식이다. 우주가 부여한 생성과 조화의 자유 조절 장치를 통해 자신의 삶에 중심을 잡고 균형을 맞춰 살아가는 것을 의미한다. 존재의 중용은 외부 사물의 제시를 통해 형성되고 있다. 이와 같은 백석 시에 나타나는 중용의 덕은 두 가지 의미를 갖는다. 하나는 삶에 대한 백석 시인의 깊은 사유와 그가 지향하는 삶의 자세를 담고 있다는 점이다. 다른 하나는, 백석 시가 지향하는 중용적 삶은 당대 현실을 견디고 극복하는 근간 되고 있다는 점이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the virtue and meaning of Zhongyong in Baekseok`s poetry. The virtue of Zhongyong in Baekseok`s poetry unfolds as Zhongyong in watchfulness over the alone, Zhongyong in Self-Integration and Zhongyong in existence. First, Zhongyong in watchfulness over the alone is a life that is faithful to one's soul in the invisible place. The Zhongyong life of watchfulness over the alone is targeted at the pure and right heart. In Baekseok's poetry, watchfulness over the alone constantly meets the cosmic being in the abyss of solitude. Next, Zhongyong of self-integration is a figure of living by finding the center of life suitable for the situation without being shaken no matter what kind of life approaches. In Baekseok's poetry, daily life is the basis for Zhongyong's life without losing his self-centeredness by harmoniously expressing changes in life. Zhongyong's life of self-integration is developed through the presentation of events or situations that have occurred. Lastly, Zhongyong of existenceis is the way of life of a human being living a cosmic life. It means to live in balance by centering on one's life through the freedom of creation and harmony control device given by the universe. Zhongyong of existence is formed through the presentation of external objects. Zhongyong's virtue, which appears in such Baekseok`s poetry, has two meanings. One is that it contains the Baekseok poet's deep thoughts on life and the attitude of life he aims for. The other is that the life of Zhongyong, which Baekseok`s poetry aims for, is the basis for enduring and overcoming the reality of the time.
