초록
The by-product, black garlic peel, contains higher concentrations of polyphenols and exhibits stron- ger antioxidant activity than ordinary garlic peel. This study evaluated the effects of dietary black garlic peel powder, a plant-derived bioactive compound, on growth performance, antioxidant response, and hepatic histopathology in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). Experimental diets were prepared by supplementing black garlic peel at 0% (BGPD0), 1% (BGPD1), 2% (BGPD2), and 3% (BGPD3) inclusion levels and the diets were fed to fish for eight weeks. Proximate composition analysis revealed a gradual increase in lipid content with higher inclusion levels. Fatty acid profiling demonstrated a decrease in SFA and a corresponding increase in MUFA and PUFA. Growth indices, including FER and CF exhibited significant improvements. Plasma GOT levels inclined with increasing supple- mentation, with a significant increase observed in the BGPD3 group relative to the control. In con- clusion, black garlic peel supplementation improved the growth and nutritional quality of rainbow trout, suggesting its potential as a functional feed additive. However, elevated GOT levels at high doses highlight the need for further studies to determine optimal inclusion and verify its metabolic and antioxidant effects.
