초록
In June 2018, mortality accompanied by extensive skin ulceration and corneal opacity occurred in cultured shortfin eels (Anguilla bicolor) reared in a recirculating aquaculture system in Gimpo-si. Causal analysis revealed the presence of Lactococcus garvieae and Aeromonas jandaei in the kidney. The corneal opacity appeared to result from excessive hyperplasia of the corneal epithelium, and the ulcerative skin lesions exhibited extensive inflammation and hemorrhagic foci were observed in co-infected A. bicolor. This represents the first reported case of co-infection with these bacteria in cultured shortfin eels (A. bicolor) in Korea.
