Abstract
신성철. 2009. 호주 기술전문대학 한국어 학습자들의 학습동기, 학습경험 및 학습 선호 조사 연구. 언어와 문화 5-2: 289-319. 본 연구의 목적은 시드니 기술전문대학 (TAFE) 한국어 학습들의 학습 동기, 학습경험 및 학습 선호도를 알아보려는데 있다. 아울러 한국어 프로그램에 포함되어야 할 문화학습 내용과 한국에 대한 첫 인상이나 이미지에 대한 의식도 조사하였다. 이를 위해 한국어 학습의 이유, 학습 경험, 선호하는 학습방법 및 한국에 대한 이미지 등으로 설문 영역을 나누어 조사하였다. 호주의 일반적인 상황과 달리 시드니 기술전문대학 (TAFE) 한국어 프로그램의 상당한 성장은 매우 흥미롭고 조사해 볼만한 가치가 있다. 학생들이 한국어문화권의 일원이 되기를 원하는지, 아니면 단순이 경제적 이득을 얻으려는 것인지, 한국과 한국인에 대한 사회문화적 거리감은 어떤 것인지 등에 대한 조사는 유사 프로그램의 조직에 유용한 정보를 제공할 수 있다. 총 81명의 학생들에게서 설문지 응답을 수집하여 이를 분석하였다. 본 연구는 한국어의 실제 사용에 초점을 맞추는 학습 목표와 수업이 이루어지는 프로그램이 되도록 강조하고 일반인과 사업인들을 위한 사회교육적 차원의 비제도권 한국어 프로그램의 도입과 개설을 주장한다.
