초심 및 경력 미술치료사의 직업유지 요인에 관한 개념도연구

초록

본 연구는 개념도 연구방법(concept mapping method)을 통해 초심 미술치료사와 경력 미술치료사들이 지각하고 있는 직업유지 요인에 대해 살펴보고 그 개념적 구조를 밝히고자 시행되었다. 이를 위해 초심 미술치료사 8명과 경력 미술치료사 8명을 대상으로 심층 면접을 실시하여 각각 38문항과 61문항의 핵심 진술문을 추출하고, 다차원 척도법(MDS: Multi-dimensional scalinig)과 위계적 군집분석(Hierarchical cluster analysis)을 실시하였다. 그 결과 초심 미술치료사와 경력 미술치료사의 직업유지 요인은 각각 2차원의 5개 군집과 7개 군집으로 분류되었다. 초심 미술치료사 집단에서는 ‘개인의 내적 만족-직업 환경적 만족’ 차원과 ‘사회적 지원-개인적 지원’ 차원에서 ‘직업 적성에 따른 만족감’, ‘직업 유망성에 대한 기대’, ‘자기발견 및 성장’, ‘사회적 연대감’, ‘전문 미술치료사로의 성장 욕구’라는 군집이 도출되었고, 경력 미술치료사 집단에서는 ‘이타적 행동의 가치-직업 전문성의 가치’ 차원과 ‘자기 성장 가능성-직업적 성장 가능성’ 차원에서 ‘이타심 및 자기만족’, ‘치료사 자기효능감’, ‘전문가로서의 소명의식’, ‘치료사로서의 내적 만족감’, ‘경력 포기에 대한 아쉬움’, ‘직업 유망성’, ‘전문성 발달과 성취감 추구’라는 군집이 도출되었다. 본 연구는 미술치료사의 직업유지 요인 탐색을 통해 미술치료사들이 직업을 유지해나가며 지속적으로 전문성을 발달해나가는데 도움을 줄 수 있는 기초 자료를 제공하였다는 점에 의의가 있다.

Abstract

This study was conducted to explore the factors of maintaining the job perceived by novice and experienced art therapists through the concept mapping research method and to reveal their conceptual structure. For this purpose, in-depth interviews were conducted with 8 novice art therapists and 8 experienced art therapists, resulting in extraction of 38 and 61 key statements, respectively, and multi-dimensional scaling and hierarchical cluster analysis were conducted. As a result, the factors of maintaining the job for novice and experienced art therapists were categorized into five clusters and seven clusters of two dimensions, respectively. In the novice art therapists group, clusters of “satisfaction with job aptitude,” “expectation of job prospects,” “self-discovery and growth,” “sense of social solidarity,” and “desire to grow as a professional art therapist” were derived from the dimensions of “personal internal satisfaction/job environment satisfaction” and “social support/personal support.” For the experienced art therapists, the dimensions “value of altruistic behavior/value of professionalism” and “potential for self-growth/professional growth” resulted in the clusters “altruism and self-satisfaction,” “therapist self-efficacy,” “sense of professional calling,” “inner satisfaction as a therapist,” “regret of career abandonment,” “job prospects,” and “seeking professional development and fulfillment.” This study is significant in that it explores the factors that contribute to art therapists' retention in the profession and provides a basis for further research to help art therapists stay in the profession and continue their professional development.
