We estimate the real rank of a composition series of closed ideals of a C*-algebra such that its subquotients have continuous trace, which is equivalent to that the C*-algebra is of type I.

We estimate the real rank of a composition series of closed ideals of a C*-algebra such that its subquotients have continuous trace, which is equivalent to that the C*-algebra is of type I.
