Abstract
The purpose of the study named "Korean War by perspective of Muslim UN Army " is to understand the Korean War, since it has been an important mark in the Turkish literature. The Turkish public has been informed about the Korean War by the press in forms of new articles, broadcasts and reports. Turkish people also have described the Korean War in the form of modern poetry, traditional short stories, novels, theatres and memories. These works, reflecting the feeling of the Turkish people, are tremendously important resources valued from historical and social point of view. Korean war could be divided four categories according to how they understood it. Those are ideology war, international war, national war, worthless war. First, Turkish people understood Korean War not as civil war, but as international war. That's why they could send an army to sacrifice for the world peace. This is coming from the Kemalism. Secondly, they understood the Korean War as an ideology war. At that time, Turkish government had to face to communist country, specially Soviet Union. Turkish people participate the war to defeat their enemies, communists such as Stalin and Mao. Thirdly, what is the most interesting point is they accepted the war as their own. They understood Korean coming from same ancestors and historical roots. Finally, they criticized both the Korean war and dispatching Turkish army as useless and worthless.
