남북관계 변화에 따른 통일문화콘텐츠 개발 필요성과 방향

Abstract

Since 2000, there have been considerable changes in the exchanges between South and North Koreas. Despite their quantitative expansion, however, the exchanges have not yet paved the way for their qualitative changes. Although the exchanges should purpose to overcome the ever-widening socio-cultural gaps and to recover the homogeneity between the two Koreas, we have not reach even a basic agreement required for the exchanges. So far, the accomplishments of most exchanges have been self-celebrated only by the concerned without being shared by the general Korean people. A sober recognition of this situation would suggest that the inter-Korean exchanges should be expanded both quantitatively and qualitatively based on the national sympathy of Korean people. In order that most Korean peoples are able to share a unification consciousness adjusted to the changing inter-Korean relationship, it is needed to actively develop and make full use of unification culture contents. The inter-Korean relationship will develop from mono-faced (the contacts for limited or specific purposes) to multi-faced contacts (those made at various levels or aspects). Preparing for this development, our unification culture contents should be focused on the unification education for the blind spot of unification culture and for the people alienated from the fruits of the inter-Korean relations. The directions for the unification culture contents are suggested in this paper as follows: 1) forming the foundation for unification, 2) improving the image as an unified nation, 3) developing contents connected to the overseas Koreans, 4) contents to preserve the cultural heritage of the Korean people, 5) preventing the negative side-effects of the inter-Korean exchanges.
