金庸 무협소설에 나타난 武功의 상징적 의미와 서사에 미친 영향에 관한 고찰

본 연구는 金庸의 무협소설을 중심으로 무협소설의 주요한 구성요소인 武功의 상징적 의미와 서사에 미친 영향에 관해 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 金庸은 인물의 형상과 무공을 사용하는 상황 등을 고려하여 전통의 詩文과 철학 사상 등 다양한 자료들을 활용하여 문화적 가공을 거친 무공과 초식들을 만들어 내었다. 이렇게 문화적 가공을 거친 무공과 초식은 비록 문자의 형태로 독자들에게 추상적인 형상으로 전해지고 있지만, 예술적 감흥과 여운을 남겨주고 있다. 또 金庸은 자신이 가공한 무공의 요지를 설명하며 無의 경지를 제시하였고, 수련방법에서는 깨달음의 과정을 강조하였다. 그리고 무공을 습득해 사용하는 과정에서는 俠義精神에 근거할 것을 요구하고 있다. 또 특별한 능력을 지닌 병기와 무공비급은 대체로 소설에 묘사된 다른 병기와 무공의 능력을 월등히 초월하는 것들이기 때문에 이들이 강호에 출현하게 되면 강호에는 자연스럽게 긴장과 갈등의 국면이 형성되게 되며, 소설의 서사 역시 이들을 중심으로 진행되게 된다.
Abstract
This study surveys the symbolic meanings of Wugong(martial arts), and effects on narratives which are the main structural elements of Kung-fu novels of Jin Yong. Jin Yong made use of various materials such as poems and philosophical thoughts and made martial arts and movements in martial arts through cultural processing. Wugong and movements in martial arts in them through cultural processing are handed to readers in letter types, but gives the feeling and aftertaste of art. Jin Yong explained essentials of martial arts he made and presented the level of nothing. In field training he emphasized the processing of cognition. And he requested that every martial arts are based on chivalrous spirit in use of martial arts. Weapons and secret highest level martial atrs are far beyond those which are described in other kung-fu novels. So if those who have the above things are in Jiang hu(the world of the swords men), naturally tension and conflict in Jiang hu are formed and narratives of novels are progressed focusing on them.
