이 글은 ‘여성주의적 관점’이 전통 철학을 어떻게 다시 보고 철학적 주제와 내용에 어떤 변화를 가져왔는지를 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 위해 먼저 여성(주의) 철학이 어떻게 대학 안에 등장하게 되었는지를, 대학 안에 여성철학을 확립한 미국의 70년대 상황에서부터 살펴본다. 그리고 현재 대학 안에서 여성철학사 쓰기가 얼마나 진행되고 있는지, 그리고 여성 철학자들의 활동이 철학사에 포함되지 못한 채 왜 어둠에 갇혀있어야 했는지를 생각해 본다. 그 다음 여성주의 철학함 중에서도 특히 개념적 비판과 재개념화 작업으로서의 “여성주의 철학함”에 초점을 맞추어 그 작업이 왜 필요한지를 논한다. 끝으로 현재 진행형인 여성 철학적 작업과 정신들이 또 다시 미래 역사에서 망각되거나 삭제되지 않기 위해 실천으로서의 여성주의 철학함이 주목해야 할 부분들에 대해 생각한다.
Abstract
This paper is a study on doing philosophy from feminist perspectives. At first, I review the situation of the United States in 1970s which established the feminist philosophy in universities, and also how investigation of women philosopher in history have been developed by feminist philosophers. And I provide some reasons why many activities of women philosophers in past have been omitted to record in the mainstream history of philosophy. Then, I will emphasize the importance of conceptual critiques and re-construction which is for the feminist transformation of philosophy. Finally, I examine achievements in feminist philosophy and their impact to the mainstream philosophy, and suggest strong interaction between philosophical studies and practical activities in feminist philosphy to continue doing philosophy from women's perspectives.
