박병천류 지전춤의 특성 고찰 －박병천과의 면담 녹취기록을 중심으로－

Abstract

Park Byeongcheon-style Jijeonchoom is choreography that the late Park Byeong cheon(1933~2007) made the Jijeonchoom independently from Sikimgut(Jindo shaman ritual for cleaning dead person’s soul) into a process of independent work while performing it on the stage. He instructed this dancing to many followers and not only made them continue to perform on the stage but also performed the dance overseas. In this study, the characteristics of Park Byeong cheon-style Jijeonchoom were organized before he died based on the tape recorded nearly a month and the DVD recorded twelve months while struggling against diseases. He had worried about the existing studies attaching unreasonable meanings and definition to the Jijeonchoom movement. He mentioned this study as a will so that the meaning of the dancing should no longer be misunderstood. The results of this study can be summarized into four points. Park Byeong cheon-style Jijeonchoom is what the display of dancing handed down in his family's ancestery which was famous for Sikimgut is gathered and formed. Second, the name of the display of the Jijeonchoom is given after seeing the paper money or female shaman’s movement. Third, many symbolisms and meanings added to the display of the dance are only definition of the name of the dancing as the name was formed, and have nothing to do with the connections or history of the display of the dance. Fourth, the rhythm of the Jijeonchoom is slightly different, depending on shaman houses, but the combination of Cheooligi, Olimchae, Dasleum is the framework used only in Park Byeong cheon family's ancestery, and the display of the dance using this rhythm is the major characteristics of Park Byeong cheon-style Jijeonchoom. Based on the above-mentioned results, the characteristics of Park Byeong cheon-style Jijeonchoom are that the display of the dance inherited in his family's ancestery is recomposed and choreographed, and he made it clear that it is equipped with the characteristics of unique combination of rhythms. He wanted that as a name of the displays of the dance were arranged as ways to express the appearance of the dance movement, they should be understood as part of Sikimgut(the shaman ritual for cleaning dead person’s soul), rather than attaching over definition to them. Afterward, he made it clear to guard against further study excess definition.
