해외수집 기록의 통합 활용을 위한 컬렉션 조직화 방안 연구

Abstract

This study has a purpose to present an organizational plan that recognizes the necessity of descriptive standards for records collected overseas and can utilize it in an integrated manner, through the analysis of the current records arrangement and description after collecting records related to Korea scattered abroad. Since the method of controlling records management by each collection agency is different and the format of the organization and description of records is different, Korea-related records relocated to Korea are not provided with integrated services. There is a need for the organization and description proposal that can be integrated by analyzing the organization and description system for each collection institution that collects and holds records related to Korea in foreign countries and the description method for integrated use. As for the descriptive method, implications are drawn by analyzing the UK’s AIM25 project which is similar to the domestic records management environment, and examine the expected effects that the application of collection description can bring about the integrated utilization of records. To this end, the National Archives of Korea and the National History Compilation Committee, which are major overseas records collection agencies in Korea, identify the description status of records collected abroad, and based on advanced overseas cases, the collection layer description is applied to overseas records held by domestic institutions. There is a need for a plan to organize it into a collection to implement an integrated model with cultural heritage institutions. In addition, by establishing a classification system for the list of overseas records collected by the National Archives of Records, we have intended to establish a standardized classification and description method of overseas records collected every year and to propose a technical design model that organizes the collection of collected records. In conclusion, it is the main purpose of this paper that based on the developed descriptive design model, overseas collection records are organized by domestic collection institutions, and descriptive elements are shared with each other to use various collections on one site, and open digital original texts can be used through linkage between holding institutions.
