원격대학 성인학습자의 숙달목표지향성과 학업성취도의 관계에서 학습에 대한 자기주도성의 매개효과

초록

본 연구의 목적은 원격대학 성인학습자의 학습동기로서의 숙달목표지향성, 학습에 대한 자기주도성, 그리고 학업성취도 간의 관계를 탐색하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 Elliot과 McGregor(2001)의 숙달목표지향성 측정도구, 김정주(2009)의 인지된 학업성취도 측정도구, Harvey et al.(2006)의 학습에 대한 자기주도성 측정도구를 활용하여 서울 소재 3개 원격대학 성인학습자 300명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 총 249부가 회수되었으며, 그 중 유효하지 않은 응답이라고 판단되는 8부를 제외하고 241부를 최종 분석에 사용하였다. 분석 결과 숙달목표지향성과 인지된 학업성취도의 관계에서 학습에 대한 자기주도성의 구성요인 중 학습자 동기/ 자기효능감/ 자율성의 부분매개효과는 통계적으로 유의한 것이 확인되었다. 이를 통해 원격대학 성인학습자의 학습동기 유형, 학습에 대한 자기주도성 및 학업성취도 간의 관계에 대한 이론적 시사점을 제공하고 원격대학 성인학습자의 학업성취 향상을 위해 학습자의 학습동기 파악, 학습자의 자기주도성 수준의 증진을 위한 실천적 시사점을 제안하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between mastery goal orientation, self-direction in learning, and academic achievement as learning motivation for adult learners at cyber universities. To this end, this study collected data from 241 enrolled students during the first semester of the 2020 school year at three cyber universities in Seoul, and conducted basic statistics, correlation, and reliability analysis using the SPSS 23.0 program. The results are as follows. First, it was confirmed that mastery goal orientation has a statistically significant positive (+) relationship with perceived academic achievement. Second, it was confirmed that the partial mediating effect of learner motivation/self-efficacy/autonomy among the sub-factors of self-direction in the relationship between mastery goal orientation and perceived academic achievement was statistically significant. Based on the results, theoretical and practical implications were derived.
