타액 내 불소함유량과 치아우식경험과의 상관관계

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between the amount of fluoride in saliva and the incidence of dental caries. The fluoride concentrations and pH levels of saliva on 32 subjects in the Department of Dental Hygiene located in Chungcheongbukdo area were measured. Oral hygiene behaviors were investigated through a self-filled questionnaire were gathered. The amount of fluoride in the saliva was 0.014ppm and the pH index was 6.9. The total of 62.5% have used oral hygiene management products, 62.5% have had fillings due to teeth caries and 65.6% had currently Suspected Caries. Total of 28.1% were exposed to a water fluoridation program, 28.1% were not exposed and 43.8% answered that ‘they didn’t know.’ There was a significant difference between the presence of restorations and the amount of fluoride in oral saliva,(p=0.04), there was a significantly negative correlation between the number of teeth treated in the past caries and pH index in oral saliva(r=-0.581, p=0.014).There wasn’t a significant difference between the presence of restorations and the amount of fluoride or pH index in oral saliva(p>0.05). As a result, there was a significant correlation between the amount of fluoride in oral saliva and number of restorations. But we could not make an accurate diagnosis of dental caries experience because of a self-filled questionnaire. The number of subjects was small and we could not include the subjects of various ages. Further research will be needed to improve the incidence of dental caries.
