오늘날 새로운 분야로 잘 알려진 스포츠 투어리즘은 선행연구가 충분하지 않은 분야라 할 수 있다. 하지만 아시아중에서도 일본과 중국은 스포츠 투어리즘에 대한 연구를 우리나라보다 다소 이르게 시작한 것이 현실이다. 따라서본 연구의 목적은 한국의 스포츠 투어리즘의 역사와 특징을 알아보고, 이를 통하여 향후 대한민국의 스포츠 투어리즘을 발전시키기 위해서는 어떠한 부분에 초점을 맞추어야 하는지를 알아보기 위함에 있다. 이를 이루기 위하여 정부와2차 자료에 근거한 문헌정보학적 분석을 시도하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 한국은 경제 성장과 함께 많은 국가들의 스포트츠투어리즘 적용 기조에 더하여 스포츠 투어리즘 산업에서 높은 성장을 달성하였음을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 한국에서의 스포츠투어리즘은 몇가지의 대형 이벤트와 함께 e스포츠 산업의 확립을 위한 형태로 나타났다.
Abstract
The sport tourism known as a new concept in the specific academic field today is unfamilar to Asian academia. In the asian continent, few scholars from Japan and China already launched research programs; the research on the sports tourism in Korea is stil in early stage. The paper focused on the sports tourism in Korea should solve the problem about two diferent categories and single level of analysis based on the central government and the secondary data. As many countries have aplied, Korea has achieved high growth in sports and tourism with economic growth. The sports tourism highly used as the curent term in Korea also has shown as her own typical form to hold several mega-events and establish eSports industry in oficialy.
