Abstract

This study investigated existing studies on the benefits and effects of resistance exercise in response to COVID-19. Paper data retrieval was analyzed through Pub Med. The search tool was analyzed using [MeSH], and the quality of the literature search was further improved through natural language search in order not to exclude the desired literature subject, and the final 11 studies were selected according to the selection criteria. resistance exercise is a primitive and representative form of exercise along with aerobic exercise, and has various benefits such as physical strength, health improvement, disease, and rehabilitation. As a result of this research study, the appropriate resistance exercise intensity during COVID-19 infection is to set a low number of repetitions (≤6RM), long rest (≥2 minutes) between sets, and submaximal effort (≤ RPE 7), 30 minutes of exercise is recommended. In conclusion, resistance exercise activates immune function and respiratory function, It is also resistance exercise is recommended as an essential exercise to prevent complications caused by rapid muscle loss after discharge from COVID-19.
