성인 초기 커플의 애착이 이성관계 집착행동에 미치는 영향: 자기-상대방 상호의존모형(APIM)검증

초록

연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 성인 초기 커플의 성인애착(불안애착 및 회피애착)이 이성관계 집착행동에 미치는 영향을 살펴보되, 그 과정에서 자기-상대방 상호의존모형을 통해 자신의 특성이 자신에게 미치는 효과인 자기효과와 자신의 특성이 상대방에게 미치는 효과인 상대방효과를 검증하는 것이다. 연구방법: 친밀관계 경험척도 개정판과 집착행동 척도를 사용하여 성인애착과 이성관계 집착행동에 관한 총 130쌍의 커플 데이터(dyadic data)를 온라인설문 방식으로 수집하였으며, IBM SPSS 21.0과 Amos 21.0을 통해 기술통계 분석, 상관 분석, 구조방정식모형 검증을 실시하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 남녀 모두 자신의 불안애착이 높을수록 파트너의 불안애착이 높았고 회피애착이 높을수록 상대방의 회피애착도 높았으며, 남자의 불안애착과 여자의 회피애착, 남자의 회피애착과 여자의 불안애착 간 유의한 정적 상관이 나타나 성인애착 성향 간 유사성과 상보성이 확인되었다. 둘째, 자신의 집착행동 수준이 높을수록 파트너의 집착행동 수준도 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 남녀 모두 불안애착 성향과 자신의 이성관계 집착행동 간 유의한 정적 자기효과가 나타났으며, 회피애착 성향과 자신의 이성관계 집착행동간 유의한 부적 자기효과가 나타났다. 반면에 상대방효과는 남녀 모두 유의하지 않았다. 넷째, 대학생 커플의 자신의 불안애착과 회피애착 성향이 집착행동에 미치는 효과의 크기에 있어서 성차는 유의하지 않았다. 결론: 이성관계 집착행동은 커플 간 관계에서 상호 역동성이 포함되는 변인이며, 이성관계에서 보이는 집착행동에 관한 치료적 개입을 계획할 시 남녀 모두 파트너의 요인보다는 개인내적 요인 중 하나인 자신의 성인애착에 초점을 맞추는 것이 필요하다는 것을 알 수 있다. 향후 커플의 집착행동을 이해하고 예방 및 치료적 개입을 위한 경험적 자료를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Abstract

Objective: This study examined the effects of undergraduate couples’ adult attachment (anxiety and avoidance attachment) on limerence in romantic relationships. By using the Actor-Partner Interpersonal Model, the actor effect of actors’ characteristics on themselves and the partner effect of the actors’ characteristics on the partners were tested in this study. Methods: Dyadic data of 130 couples were collected through online questionnaires using Experiences in Close Relationship-Revised and Limerence behavior scales, and descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equation modeling were conducted using IBM SPSS 21.0 and Amos 21.0. Results: First, similarity and complementarity were noted between adult attachment tendencies among both male and female partners in early adult couples. Second, there is a significantly positive correlation between undergraduate couples’ limerence in romantic relationship. Third, the anxiety attachment tendencies of both male and female partners indicate a positive correlation in the actors’ limerence in romantic relationships, whereas the avoidance attachment tendencies of both male and female partners indicate a negative correlation. However, the partners’ effects are not significant for both male and female partners. Finally, no significant gender difference is noted in the magnitudes of the actors’ anxiety and avoidance attachment effects on limerence. Conclusions: Limerence in romantic relationships is a variable included in the mutual dynamics of the relationship between couples. When a therapeutic intervention is planned for the limerence in romantic relationships, both male and female partners must focus on the actors’ adult attachment instead of that of their partners.
