초록

구약시대엔 병 고침을 받은 예가 매우 드물게 나타날 뿐이다. 반면에 예수님과 함께 사도들은 많은 병자를 고쳤다. 한편 서신서에는 건강과 치유에 대한 언급이 매우 적은 편이다. 신약신학적으로 볼 때, 공생애 시대의 예수님과 사도들, 그리고 신약시대의 신자들과 교회에 있어서 치유와 목적과 성격이 서로 다른 것 같다. 공관복음에 따르면, 나사렛 예수께서 치유와 축사를 집중적으로 행하신 것은 하나님께서 오셔서 죄 용서와 치유와 포로 해방의 구원(= 하나님의 왕적 통치)을 베푸신다는 이사야 예언(‘제2의 출애굽’! 사 35:5-6; 40:1-11; 61:1-2)을 성취하는 메시아이심을 스스로 증거하시기 위함이었다(막 1:1-3, 14-15; 눅 4:16-21; 마 12:28). 요한복음에서도 예수님의 치유는 기적적 병자 치유라는 단순한 차원보다는 신학적이고 메시아론적인 의미가 있다. 즉 치유의 ‘표적들’을 보고 하나님의 아들의 영광을 보고 그가 영생을 주시는 신적인 구주되심을 믿게 하기 위한 것이었다(요 1:14; 2:11; 20:30-31).

Abstract

This article is an attempt to see the differences as well as the commonalities in healing by Jesus of Nazareth and healing in the name of the risen Lord Jesus by the apostles and healing by individual Christians and the church. The Spirit-filled Jesus healed all the people suffering from diseases who came to him. Accoding to the Synoptics (Mark 1:1-3, 14-15; Lk 4:16-21; Matt 12:28), his ministry of healing and driving out demons has a christological and soteriological meaning, for it was to demonstrate that he as the Coming One has fulfilled the Isaianic prophecies of the forgiveness of sin, miraculous healings and deliverance from the exile in the coming of God’s kingly reign (Is 35:5-6; 40:1-11; 61:1-2; ‘the second exodus’!). In John’s Gospel, Jesus’ ministry of healings is implicitly and explicitly stated to see in them adumbrations of the glory of the Son of God and come to believe in him as the divine dispenser of eternal life (1:14; 2:11; 20:30-31).
