Abstract
This Paper shows that structural change of China's trade pattern and its effect on export competition between China and Korea. The in-depth analysis of trade flows shows that the engine of China's trade expansion has been international processing activities, based on inputs imported from abroad. From the three kind of index using analyses, market sharing, CEPII RCA, ESI, we find that the Sino-Korea export competitions are not serious in Korea's main export industries. This results conform that Korea's main industries still hold its comparative advantages against China’s competitors. Lastly, this study points out that limitation of China’s technological upgrading and that will give some more time to Korean firms especially small and medium size enterprises to develop their technological competition.
