시문학에서의 경험적 시간 해석과 실러의 구성․논리적 시간에 대한 고찰

본 논문은 시문학에서 하나의 딜레마로 간주되어온 시간의 구성․논리적 문제를 실러의 시간론에 근거하여 분석한다. 시문학에서 시간은 주로 경험의 주관적․의미론적 영역에서 논구되어 왔다. 한편 실러에게 시간은 경험의 제약에서벗어나, 가변하는 현상들 이면에 작동하는 인간의 사고 원리들에 관계한다. 특히 그의 시간 개념은 변화하는 인간의 내․외적 상태들을 수용하고 규정(die Bestimmung)하는 데 있어 필연적인 ‘인식의 구성’ 요소로 거론된다. 그러나 그동안 실러의 시간관이 인식론적 관점에서 독립적으로 정초하게 다뤄진 적은 없다. 주된 이유는 같은 언어를 쓰는 피히테 조차도 시적으로 발언된 실러의 글을“이해하려면 몽땅 번역해야 한다”고 할 정도로 그의 텍스트는 정밀한 철학적해석을 요한다. 본고는 베일에 싸인 시간의 구성․논리적 근거(Grund)를 찾아, 먼저 쉼보르스카, 괴테, 밀란 쿤데라의 작품에 담지된 경험적 시간의 일회성과 반복성에 관한 구조 논리를 고찰한다. 그리고 경험에 편입될 수 없는 불변적 시간의 규정원리를 실러의 시간론을 통해 밝힌다. 실러의 정의에 따르면 “시간은 모든 생성하는 것들의 조건이다”. 그는 내․외적으로 현상하는 상태들의 생성․변화 문제를 시간 자체로부터 분리해, 시간을 연속의 관계 ‘조건’으로서 파악한다. 그런데 실러의 시간 논리에는 우연적이고도 불연속적인 인식의 구성 상태와 원리에대한 상세한 설명을 찾아보기가 힘들다. 다만, 시간의 순차적 조건 안에 상이한상태들이 당연한 것으로 전제되고 함축되어 있다. 따라서 마지막으로 본고는 그어떤 시보다도 “우연적 병렬 상태”에서의 구성적 시간의식을 명확히 보여주는기형도의 「성탄목」을 일례로 들어, 순차적 시간의식 너머에 가려진 시간의 병렬적 구성의 의미를 분석한다. 그리고 이를 통해 실러의 시간론에서 미처 해명되지 못한 불연속적 상태 변화와 규정 가능성에 대한 구성 원리를 규명한다. 요컨대 시간은 불연속적 변화에 대한 연속의 조건이자 경험의 근원 조건이다.
Abstract
This paper analyzes the constitutive and logical problems of time that have been regarded as a dilemma in poetry and literature based on Schiller’s theory of time. In poetry and literature, time is mainly discussed in the subjective and semantic areas of experience. On the other hand, time for Schiller is related to the principles of human thought that operate on the hidden side of the changing phenomena, breaking away from the constraints of experience. In particular, his concept of time is considered as a necessary element of ‘cognitive construction' in accepting and limiting the conditions of human internal and external change. However, Schiller's theory of time has not been handled independently from an epistemological point of view. The main reason is that even Fichte who speaks the same language needs a precise philosophical interpretation so much as to say “that you must translate everything to understand” Schiller’s poetically spoken text. In search of the constitutional and logical foundation of time wrapped in veils, first, this article considers the structural logic of the one - time and repetitiveness of the time in the works of Schimborgska, Goethe and Milan Kundera. And this paper reveals the principle of determination of invariant time that can not be incorporated into experience through Schiller’s theory of time. According to Schiller’s definition, “time is a condition of all things that are created and changed”. He sees time as a condition of succession by separating the problem of change of internal and external phenomenal states from time itself. However, it is difficult to find a detailed explanation of the constitutional state and principle of accidental and discontinuous recognition in Schiller's logic of time. It is assumed and implied that the different states are only self-evident in the successive conditions of time. So finally, this paper derives the logic of “accidental parallel state” inherent in Giyheongdo’s Christmas tree in terms of constructive time and redeterminats the change of discontinuous state by adding to Schiller’s theory of time. In essence, time is a condition of succession to discontinuous change and a fundamental condition of experience. ‣
