국내 공공도서관의 소비자 건강 관련 특화 서비스 제공현황 분석: 서울시교육청 소속 도서관을 중심으로

본 연구에서는 공공도서관의 건강정보 관련 장서 현황과 수집연도별 변화 추이 및 프로그램 제공 현황을 분석하였다. 서울특별시교육청 소속 도서관 22개관의 홈페이지와 국가자료종합목록 구축시스템(KOLIS-NET) 데이터베이스를활용하여 기술과학 분야 중 건강정보 관련 장서수 및 건강 관련 문화프로그램리스트를 수집하였다. 분석 결과, 건강정보 분야가 차지하는 비율은 평균 0.44% 로 나타났으며, 22개 전체 도서관에서 평균 1%가 넘지 않았다. 또한, 건강정보분야 장서구성 비율이 높은 강서도서관은 최근 5년간 22개 도서관에서 진행된총 34건의 건강관련 문화프로그램 중 12건을 운영한 것으로 확인되었다. 건강정보는 개인의 일상과 밀접한 주제의 정보이기 때문에 공공도서관은 건강정보와 관련한 장서 및 프로그램을 적극적으로 제공하여 이용자의 정보요구 충족과 삶의 질 향상에 기여할 필요가 있다.
Abstract
In this study, we analyzed the current status of health-related information collections and programs in South Korean public libraries. Using the websites of twenty-two public libraries affiliated with the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education and a database named KOLIS-NET, the researchers analyzed the number of books related to health information in the field of science and technology and a list of health-related cultural programs. Results indicated that the average proportion of the health-related collection was about 0.44%, and the average did not exceed 1% in all 22 libraries. In addition, Gangseo Library, which has a high proportion of health information collections, was confirmed to have operated 12 out of 34 health-related cultural programs over the past five years. As health information is one of the topics closely related to individuals’ daily lives, public libraries need to satisfy users’ information needs accordingly by offering sufficient collections and cultural programs.
