Abstract

· Research topics: This study aims to examine the effect of lifelong educators’ digital literacy on their innovative behavior, and to verify whether learning agility plays a mediating role in this relationship. · Research background: As digital transformation accelerates, lifelong educators are increasingly required to possess not only technical skills but also flexible competencies such as creative problem-solving and rapid learning abilities. Accordingly, this study investigates how digital literacy influences innovative behavior and explores the mediating role of learning agility in this process. · Differences from prior research: While prior research has mainly focused on the direct relationship between digital literacy and innovative behavior, this study differentiates itself by empirically validating the underlying mechanism through the mediating role of learning agility. Furthermore, it is distinctive in targeting a population of certified lifelong educators. · Research method: A survey was conducted with 127 lifelong educators holding a Level 2 or higher certification. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was employed to analyze the relationships among variables and to test the mediating effect. · Research results: The results revealed that digital literacy has a significant effect on innovative behavior. Learning agility was found to mediate this relationship, indicating that both digital literacy and learning agility contribute to the promotion of innovative behavior. · Contribution points and expected effects: This study highlights the need to develop training programs that enhance digital competencies and learning agility to strengthen lifelong educators’ innovation capacity. It is expected to contribute to improving their adaptability to change and fostering practical professional competence.
