Abstract

· Research topics: The purpose of this study is to verify the moderating effect of human rights respect on the relationship between subjective health status and life satisfaction among persons with psychiatric disabilities residing in facilities. · Research background: This study highlights the need to empirically examine the changes or effects that human rights–based practices may have on the lives of persons with disabilities. · Differences from prior research: This study focused on deriving implications for human rights–based practice by emphasizing the moderating role of human rights respect in the relationship between subjective health and life satisfaction. · Research method: Data were collected from 221 persons with psychiatric disabilities aged 18 years or older residing in facilities in Chungcheongnam-do Province. The moderating effects were analyzed using Process Macro 4.2. · Research results: First, lower levels of subjective health status were associated with lower life satisfaction. Second, the level of human rights respect moderated the relationship between subjective health status and life satisfaction. · Contribution points and expected effects: This study is expected to provide foundational data for the development of human rights–based programs and the establishment of policies aimed at improving the quality of life of persons with psychiatric disabilities residing in facilities.
