Abstract

This study is aimed to define the phenomenon that other speech-acts implicate the expressive speech-acts and do research on those specificity. This study reveal that all other speech-acts except for the expressive speech-acts can implicate the expressive speech-acts. In other words, it appear that all stimulating speech-acts, 'the statement speech-acts, the expressive speech-acts, the question speech-acts, the command speech-acts, the proposing speech-acts, the promise speech-acts' and all responsive speech-acts, 'the affirming speech-acts, the denying speech-acts, the rejecting response speech-acts, the description question response speech-acts, the non-sympathizing speech-acts, the accepting speech-acts, the refusing speech-acts, the allowing speech-acts, the non-allowing speech-acts', the implicate expressive speech-acts through examples. But the sympathizing speech-acts do not implicate the expressive speech-acts but entail the expressive speech-acts. About the expressive speech-acts, its appear that all expressive speech-acts, 'the pleasure speech-acts, the sadness speech-acts, the surprisal speech-acts, the anger speech-acts, the hatred speech-acts, the fear speech-acts', are implicated through examples. And this study clarify that other speech-acts to implicate the expressive speech-acts should be distinguished from the pure expressive speech-acts and the expressive speech-acts to implicate other speech-acts. Finally, which other speech-acts implicate the expressive speech-acts is the expressive speech-acts or other speech-acts depends on the other speaker's responsive speech-acts. In other words, what speech-acts of prior turn to be depend on whether for the other speaker to respond it as the expressive speech-acts or for the other speaker to respond it as other speech-acts.
