Abstract
First, the participation rate of migrant workers in vocational training was higher in medium enterprises (17.3%) than in small enterprises (12.9%) with less than 50 employees. By region, the metropolitan area (14.3%) had the highest rate. Second, the purpose of migrant workers' vocational training was to improve job skills (55.4%), and 73.8% responded that vocational training was helpful in improving job skills. The cost of vocational training was borne by almost half (43.6%) of migrant workers. Third, the results of estimating the wage effect of migrant worker vocational training through regression analysis showed it was significantly higher by 4.5% (OLS) to 3.8% (PSME). As for the wage effect by business size, the effect for small businesses (4.5%) was larger than for medium businesses (2.3%). Fourth, the results of estimating the effect of vocational training on job satisfaction (ordered logit) showed the job satisfaction of migrant workers who participated in vocational training was significantly higher by 1.2 times. These analysis results indicate that migrant workers' vocational training leads to job competency and productivity improvement, which has a positive effect on wages and job satisfaction.
