초록
This study investigates the quality of life (QoL) impact of travel experiences on domestic and inbound tourists visiting Pokhara, Nepal. Through forty-two in-depth interviews and a survey based on Sirgy’s travel life domains, the study identifies how positive and negative travel experiences affect satisfaction across fourteen life domains, including social, leisure, health, and environmental aspects. Employing a “laddering” technique, the analysis reveals that Pokhara’s environmental quality uniquely enhances tourists’ overall life satisfaction. Key findings indicate that positive experiences in domains like social life and cultural engagement significantly increase satisfaction, while negative experiences detract from well-being. The study demonstrates the substantial role of sustainable tourism practices in enriching QoL for diverse tourist groups and provides actionable insights for tourism stakeholders to optimize tourist satisfaction through domain- specific improvements. The findings underscore Pokhara’s potential as a model for enhancing QoL through tourism in culturally and ecologically significant destinations.
