Abstract
Rosa Luxemburg presented a Marxian theory of realization crisis along the path of capital accumulation. Marxian economists traditionally criticized her argument as an underconsumptionist theory and/or inconsistent with the tendency of falling rate of profits. They overlook that Rosa’s crisis theory corresponds to Harrod’s proposition of knife-edge instability. Her macro-model has a theoretical structure more extensive than Harrod’s such that growth and distribution are put together in a unified scheme. This model overdetermines a long-period equilibrium of full capacity utilization, and it corresponds to Rosa’s crisis.
