초록
This paper proposes a infrastructure for a fiber-radio microcellular system to operate in millimeter wave(MMW) band. We show that the proposed structure employs frequency conversions, which is implemented by photonic mixing, such that a central station(CS) and a base station(BS) handle IF signals and MMW signals, respectively. This is quite advantageous for enhancing uplink spurious free dynamic range(SFDR) and miniaturizing BS. Moreover, it is shown that BS's structure is further simplified via remodulation which is applicable when some conditions to be presented are satisfied. By simulation, we examine the link performances such as downlink CNR, IM3/C and uplink SFDR and describe its feasibility.
