유비쿼터스 네트워크는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅을 수행하기 위해 구성된 지능형 사물들 간의 네트워크를 의미한다. 컴퓨팅 노드간의 통신을 원활히 지원 할 수 있도록 다양한 네트워킹 기술들이 복합적으로 결합되어 사용된다. 즉 유무선기간 네트워크 기술인 Bcn, B3G 등이 기반 인프라 네트워크 기술로 사용되고 컴퓨팅 노드들 간의 직접적인 통신을 WPAN, WLAN, 센서 네트워크 등의 개별 기술들이 사용된다. 이들 개별 기술들을 결합하고 유비쿼터스 네트워킹 요구사항을 만족시키기 위해서는 개별 네트워크 기술들의 복합/연동 기술이 필요하다. 이에 관련된 핵심 네트워크 기술은 ad-hoc 네트워킹 기술과 다양한 네트워크 액세스 기술의 결합으로 볼 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 ad-hoc 네트워크 기술과 복합/연동 기술 중 최근 주목 받고 있는 무선 메쉬 네트워크를 고찰한다. 또한 하이브리드 메쉬 네트워크의 구조를 갖고 커뮤니티 컴퓨팅을 지원하기 위한 u-Zone 커뮤니티 네트워크를 살펴보고 이를 위한 유비쿼터스 라우팅 기술을 소개한다.
Abstract
Ubiquitous network is a network comprising intelligent (or smart) objects that are intended ro support ubiquious computing. Various networking thchnologies can be used to form such a networking between computing nodes in a combined manner. Namely, BcN and B3G are employed as the core infrastucture of network as well as direct communation links between computing nodes can y built by an individual network access technology such as WPAN, WLAN, and sensor network. To meet with ubiquious networking requirements, therefore, a proper way to combine these indivdual access technologies is necessary. The key thchnology to do so is the combination/interworiking of ad-hoc networking and varous access technologies. Under the context, this article descrives ad hoc netsorking and wriless mesh networks that have been increasingly attracted these days. Further, the u-Zone vased community network which is a kind of hybrid wireless mesh network and its routing technology are presented.
