본 연구에서는 음란물을 자주 접촉하는 청소년과 그렇지 않은 청소년간에 성 및 심리사회적 특성에 있어서 어떠한 차이가 있는지를 살펴보았다. 중학교 학생 1,080명을 대상으로 음란물 접촉경험을 측정하여 접촉집단과 비접촉집단을 구분하였으며, 이들을 대상으로 성지식, 성태도, 자기존중감, 교우관계 (외톨이), 학교생활 적응정도를 측정하였다. 연구결과, 음란물접촉 청소년과 비접촉 청소년간에 성지식에서는 유의한 차이가 없었으나, 성태도는 음란물접촉 청소년이 더 부정적인 것으로 나타났다. 또한 음란물접촉 청소년이 비접촉 청소년에 비해 자기존중감이 낮았으며, 학교생활적응에 어려움을 겪는 것으로 나타났다. 교우관계에서는 전체적으로 뚜렷한 차이가 나타나지 않았으나, 하위요인별로는 차이를 보였다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 청소년의 음란물 접촉 및 중독을 예방하고 이에 대처하는 방안에 대하여 논의하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine sexual and psychosocial characteristics of adolescents who frequently view sexual materials. The Sexual Knowledge Scale, the Sexual Attitude Scale, the Self-esteem Scale, the Oiettolie Inventory, and the School Adjustment Scale were administered to 1,080 middle school students. The viewer and the non-viewer were divided dased on the degree of exposure to sexual materials. The results were as follows : The level of sexual knowledge was not significantly different between the viewer and the non-viewer. However, the viewer had more negative sexual attitude than the non-viewer. The viewer had lower level of self-esteem and school adjustment. For peer relationship, although no statistically significant difference was detected in the total scale, significant differences were found in the two subscales. Based on these results, appropriate strategies to prevent addiction to sexual materials were discussed.
