Abstract
There is a wide spectrum in online social network researches. Major research subjects in computer science are related to the distributed processing, real-time messaging, massive data processing, while other academic and industrial issues are the understanding and analyses on the social impacts and SNS users’ behaviors. Structural analysis, influencer identification, affection analysis, behavioral changes and collective actions are very important research topics in this aspect. In this paper, I introduce the characteristics of research trends and technological issues as well as various subjects from the point of the social science. Furthermore, future challenges and potential research topics are discussed and suggested.
