반려동물 케어를 위한 올인원 토탈 클리닉 계획에 관한 연구 -개체의 행동특성을 적용한 디자인 중심으로-

Abstract

(Background and Purpose) Currently, the number of people raising pets in Korea has exceeded 15 million, and the pet-related industry is expected to expand to the 6 trillion markets. With the rapid development of these pet-related industries, interest in pet-related facilities and attempts at new spaces are increasing significantly. The area of planning is transforming into a space where the convenience and consideration of pets such as families are based. This paper aims to investigate and analyze spatial factors related to individual behavioral characteristics of companion animals, derive key elements of space, apply them to new spatial planning of pet-related facility, then present spatial design of all-in-one Total Clinic facilities optimized for pets with convenience as a basic data. (Method) The research methods of this study, literature surveys and case analysis of domestic and overseas were conducted. The behavioral characteristics of companion animals were studied and analyzed through a literature survey, and the concept of companion animal-related facilities was defined. Cases of domestic and overseas are investigated and analyzed to derive key factors that could help development in pet-related facilities. In addition, a suitable target site with these was selected and the space was planned. (Results) According to the results of the comprehensive case analysis, it is difficult to say that both domestic and overseas cases are facilities that consider pets. Most of the finishing materials used materials that were convenient for partners or easy to manage, and the space also follows the convenience of partners and managers. The space to be planned in the future should be based on companion animals from finishing materials to space composition, and should be designed in consideration of the behavioral characteristics of the individual. (Conclusions) Through this study, the behavioral characteristics of companion animals were identified, and essential elements of spatial design for companion animals were derived and applied to planning space optimized for the behavioral characteristics based on the results of the analysis. Each space has a playground and a hideout, so it is composed of a companion animals-conscious space where people can play and rest as well as eat. To improve pet-related facilities in the future, it is necessary to establish a meaningful improvement plan that considers and optimizes the behavioral characteristics of companion animals as much as possible, and the space design strategy of Total Clinic to implement this needs to be detailed. Also, to increase the efficiency of data, this study investigated some prior papers by majors in the field of interior architecture, but follow-up studies that diversified the subject of the survey are required in the future.
