Abstract
This study is a pilot study investigating the relationship between the distress originated from feelings of biological inferiority among middle school students and their delinquency mediated by negative self esteem and aggressiveness. We employed multiple regression analysis using the panel data collected from sample of 3,449 middle school students for 2 years, i.e. the 2005 panel of Korea Youth Panel Study by Korea Institute for Youth Development. Contrary to the previous study, the results showed that stress from biological inferiority among young students was inversely correlated with delinquency. Also, the effect was mediated by students’ negative self esteem as well as aggressiveness.
