한국의 박물관 건립 현황 분석에 따른 박물관 건립 계획(Museum Planning)의 필요성

Abstract

This treatise examines museum construction problems in Korea, and suggests the establishment of the concept of museum planning and its necessity. The expansion of facilities is a very important accomplishment indicator of thereality of Korean museum policy. However, insufficiency of construction planning and design work causes insolvent operation and insufficient public participation. Furthermore, feasibility studies for museum planning are not concerned with financing and investment for securing funds, or the museum's character, but are only perfunctory processes. There are difficulties in achievingdistinctiveness and competitiveness in architectural design and display due to the lack of practical guidelines. This treatise therefore suggests the concept of museum planning and its sphere of activity which includes the planning and administration process in its entirety from construction planning to practice. In particular, it gives shape to systemic methods through elucidating the role of the museum planner and expert of museum construction. After all, museum planning aims to promote museums and also to reinforce competitiveness in respect of policy.
