실패의 두려움이 창업의도에 미치는 영향: 자기결정성과 사회적 지지의 조절효과를 중심으로

창업은 현대 사회에서 경제적 독립과 창의성을 추구하고자 하는 개인들에게 매력적인 옵션 중 하나지만, 창업을 고려하는 개인은 경제적으로 성공할 수 있을지에 대한 의문과 함께 자연스럽게 실패의 가능성을 고려하곤 한다. 이 같은 실패의 두려움은 창업의 장벽으로 작용하는 심리적 요인이 되어 창업의도를 저해한다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 연구는 실패의 두려움과 창업의도 간의 관계를 조사하고, 이를 더 깊게 이해하기 위해 사회적 지지와 자기결정성의 조절 효과를 검증하였다. 이를 위해, 만 20세 이상의 286명의 성인을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였고, 수집된 자료는 SPSS/WIN 27.0 및 Macro 4.1 프로그램을 활용하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자기결정성의 내재적 동기가 높을 때는 실패의 두려움이 높아지더라도 창업의도에 별다른 영향을 미치지 못하였다. 즉, 내재적 동기는 실패 두려움이 창업의도에 미치는 부정적인 효과를 완충하는 효과가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 사회적 지지는 실패의 두려움이 창업의도에 미치는 부정적인 효과를 완충하는 효과가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 연구 결과를 통해 미래 창업자들의 행동 및 의사결정 프로세스를 이해하고, 창업 환경 개선에 도움이 될 수 있기를 기대한다.
Abstract
Starting a business is one of the attractive options for individuals seeking economic independence and creativity in modern society, but individuals considering starting a business naturally consider the possibility of failure along with questions about whether they can succeed economically. This fear of failure becomes a psychological factor that acts as a barrier to starting a business and hinders the intention to start a business. In this context, this study investigated the relationship between fear of failure and entrepreneurial intention, and tested the moderating effects of social support and self-determination to understand it more deeply. For this purpose, a survey was conducted on 286 adults over the age of 20, and the collected data was collected using SPSS/WIN 27.0 and Macro 4.1 programs. The research results are as follows, First, when the intrinsic motivation of self-determination was high, even if the fear of failure increased, it had no significant effect on the will to start a business. In other words, it was found that intrinsic motivation had the effect of buffering the negative effect of fear on the will to start a business. Second, social support was found to have the effect of buffering the negative effect of fear of failure on the will to start a business. We hope that the research results will be helpful in understanding the behaviour and decision-making process of future entrepreneurs and improving the startup environment
