영유아기 준비도 개념과 연구동향 분석

초록

본 연구의 목적은 영유아기 준비도 개념과 연구동향을 분석하여 준비도 개념 활용 방향과 교육현장및 학계에의 시사점을 도출하는 것이다. 분석 대상은 영유아기 준비도 개념을 주제로 한 연구물을RISS에서 검색하여 선정하였다. 영유아기 준비도 개념의 정의를 살펴보기 위해서는 학교준비도, 학습준비도, 학업준비도를 주제로 한 연구물에서 다루는 하위 변인을 범주화하여 살펴보았다. 영유아기 준비도 주제의 연구동향을 분석하기 위해서는 준비도뿐만 아니라 연계, 전이를 주제로 한 연구물까지 포함하여 연도, 연구대상, 연구방법별로 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 영유아기 준비도 하위 변인은 언어 및 인지적 변인에 집중되었으나 그에 비해 신체적 변인과 학습에 대한 긍정적 태도 변인은 적게 나타났다. 영유아기 준비도 연구동향의 경우, 연도별로 연구물의 수가 증가하는 경향을 보였으며, 연구대상과 연구방법별로는 준비도 및 연계, 전이 주제에 따라 경향에 차이가 나타났다. 이에 영유아기 준비도가 기본적인 개념 정의에 충실할 필요가 있고, 유아교육에서 초등교육으로의 전이 시 필요한 준비도뿐만 아니라 보육에서 유아교육으로의 전이 시 필요한 준비도도 중요함을 시사한다.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the concept of early childhood readiness and examine research trends to determine the implications and direction of utilizing readiness in the field of educational and academia. The data for analysis were selected by conducting a search for research articles on early childhood readiness in the RISS database. To explore the definition of early childhood readiness, sub-variables identified in articles pertaining to school readiness, learning readiness, and academic readiness were categorized and examined. In order to analyze research trends concerning early childhood readiness, range of studies were reviewed, taking into account the year of the publication, research subjects, and methods employed. This analysis encompassed not only early childhood readiness but also continuity and transition. The findings revealed sub-variables associated with early childhood readiness were predominantly concentrated on language and cognitive variables, while the physical and positive attitude toward learning variables received less attention. In the case of early childhood readiness research trends, the number of studies showed an increasing trend over the years, and variations were observed in relation to topics (readiness, continuity, and transition), research subjects and methods employed. Accordingly, it is suggested that early childhood readiness should adhere to a precise and comprehensive definition of the core concept. Furthermore, it is important to recognize the significance of readiness of transition not only early childhood education to elementary education but also for the transition from early childhood care to early childhood education.
