한부모가족 여성가장의 심리적 안녕과 관련변인 연구

초록

본 연구에서는 18세미만의 자녀가 있는 한부모가족 여성가장을 대상으로 심리적 안녕의 정도와 개인적, 가족적, 사회적 변인에 따른 심리적 안녕의 차이를 살펴보고 심리적 안녕에 미치는 관련변인들의 영향력을 파악함으로써 한부모가족의 적응향상을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 조사대상자는 배우자와 사별하거나 이혼한 여성가장으로서 284명을 분석하였다. 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한부모가족 여성가장의 개인적 변인 중 건강, 자존감, 문제해결적 대처 등은 1점에서 5점범위 내에서 중간점수인 3점을 상회하는 것으로 나타났으며 가족적 변인은 전반적으로 모두 3점을 넘지 못하고 있다. 사회적 변인으로는 사회적 지지 중 도구적 지지가 정서적 지지보다는 비교적 높게 나타났으며, 심리적 안녕의 생활만족도는 평균 3.01, 우울은 평균 3.06으로 나타났다. 둘째, 관련변인에 따른 심리적 안녕의 차이를 분석한 결과 생활만족도에 개인적 변인 중 교육수준, 홀로된 원인, 건강수준, 자존감, 문제해결적 대처, 가족적 변인 중 가족스트레스, 가족자원, 모자녀갈등관계, 가정 월평균소득, 사회적 변인으로는 도구적 지지, 정서적 지지, 교육프로그램참여, 제도적 지원 등에서 차이가 나타났다. 우울에는 개인적 변인 중 교육수준, 건강수준, 자존감, 정서적 대처가, 가족적 변인 중 가족스트레스, 가족자원, 모자녀갈등관계, 가정 월평균소득, 사회적 변인 중 정서적 지지, 교육프로그램참여, 제도적 지원 등에서 차이가 나타났다. 셋째, 한부모가족 여성가장의 심리적 안녕에 영향을 미치는 변인들을 파악하기 위해 회귀분석을 한 결과 생활만족도에 도구적 지지, 가족스트레스, 가족자원, 자존감, 문제해결적 대처, 정서적 지지, 제도적 지원, 건강수준, 홀로된 원인 순으로 나타났으며 우울에는 가족스트레스, 모자녀갈등관계, 가족자원, 정서적 대처, 교육프로그램참여, 자존감과 제도적 지원, 정서적 지지 순으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 볼 때 한부모가족 여성가장의 심리적 안녕 향상을 위해서는 개인적, 가족적, 사회적 측면에서 다양한 접근이 시도되어야 하겠으며 나아가 이들을 위한 프로그램과 제도적 지원에서도 적용할 시사점을 제공해 주었다.

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to find the general trends and the differences of influencing factors of single mothers' psychological well-being and, to analyze the effects of individual, family, social environment variables on the psychological well-being. The subjects were the 284 of single mothers living in Kwangju and Chonnam. The data were analyzed with frequency, t-Test, F-test, Pearsons' r, and multiple regression by SPSS. The major findings were as follows; 1. Scores of single mothers' individual variables showed higher than median, family variables were lower than median, and instrumental support showed higher than emotional support. Single mothers' psychological well-being showed about median. 2. Single mothers' psychological well-being was significantly different from education, health, self-respect, family stress, family resources, mother-child conflicts, monthly income, emotional support, participation of education program, and institutional support. 3. Life satisfaction of single mothers was influenced by health, self-respect, problem-solving coping, family stress, family resources, mother-child conflicts, instrumental support, emotional support, and institutional support. Depression of single mothers was influenced by self-respect, emotional coping, family stress, family resources, mother-child conflicts, emotional support, participation of education program, and institutional support. In conclusion, to develop single mothers' psychological well-being, mothers must be used individual, family, social environment variables and implications for alternatives to support single mothers from this study were provided.
