Abstract
This research based on cognitive appraisal theories of discrete emotions, investigates how one’s emotions induced by reading newspaper articles change when one considers the third-person or is provided with information regarding other people. In order to do this, this research examines an experiment to look into whether thinking the third-person effect, providing the result of poll can distinctively induce particular emotions on newspaper articles of positive/negative attributes on job market(N=800). The difference of discrete emotional reponses tends to show the most prominently if the newspaper articles of attributes is different the result of public opinion surveys. The result that if people is provided with poll opposed to emotions about news article shows that News reports on specific issues may lead to formation of public opinion as well as personal emotions.
