본 연구의 목적은 가사활동 분담의 공정성에 대한 부부의 인식 차이를 확인하고, 공정성에 미치는 요인을 파악하며, 공정성 인식이 배우자 만족도에 미치는 영향을 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 가족실태조사 원자료를 활용하여 부부 1,404쌍을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 가사활동 분담의 공정성은 아내보다 남편이 더 우호적으로 인식하였고, 가사활동 영역 중 자녀돌봄에서 부부간 공정성 인식의 차이가 가장 컸다. 또한 맞벌이 남편이 가장 공정하다고 인식하는 반면, 맞벌이 여성이 가장 불공정하다고 인식하였다. 둘째, 분담 공정성에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석한 결과 아내의 가사노동시간이나 근로시간 비중이 클수록 가사 분담 공정성이 감소했다. 또한 가사활동을 부부가 똑같이 하지 않고 남편이나 아내 등 1명이 주도할 때 공정성 인식이 감소했다. 그 외에도 여성, 결혼기간이 길수록, 일가족 갈등 수준이 높을수록 분담의 공정성 인식이 감소했다. 셋째, 분담의 공정성 인식이 증가할수록 배우자에 대한 만족도가 증가했다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 본 연구에서는 육아기 근로시간 단축제도의 사용기간 확대, 사회복지 실천 현장에서 공정성을 다룬 부부교육 프로그램 개발 등을 제안하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify differences in couples’ perceptions of fairness in the division of household activities, to identify factors affecting fairness, and to examine the effect of fairness perception on spouse satisfaction. For this purpose, 1,404 couples were analyzed using the raw data of the Family Survey. As a result of the analysis, the fairness of the division of household activities was perceived by the husband as more favorable than that of the wife, and the difference in the perception of fairness between the husband and wife in the area of household activities was the largest in the area of child care. There was a greater gender gap in perceptions of fairness between working couples thansingle-earner couples. Second, as a result of analyzing the factors affecting the fairness of the division, the fairness of the division of household activities decreased as the proportion of the wife’s housework hours or working hours increased. In addition, when housework is not shared equally by the husband and wife, the perception of fairness decreases. In addition, women, the longer they were married, and the higher the level of work-family conflict, the lower their perception of the fairness of the division. Third, as perceptions of the fairness of division increased, satisfaction with spouses increased. Based on these results, this study proposes to extend the period of use of the system for shortening working hours during child-rearing and to develop a couple’s education program that deals with fairness in the field of social welfare practice.
