Abstract
Dynamically oriented psychotherapy, although not as well researched regarding its efficacy in depressive disorders, has long been used for them, and many clinicians use the technique as their primary method. The author reviewed dynamic psychotherapy of depression with special references to its principle & some influential hypotheses regarding psychodynamics of depression. Finally, a psychotherapy case with major depressive disorder manifesting atypical features was provided with a focus on the understanding of psychodynamics of depression.
