소문의 시적 구현 양상-정양의 시를 중심으로

Abstract

Rumor is a social phenomenon as it requires time, space, and the intervention of others. The effective period of a rumor is determined by the degree of memory fragments that are distributed by the memory vehicle. People realize that they are a member of society by consuming and circulating rumors. Rumor secures a social identity for an individual. Rumor is likely to be scattered before being written naturally in letters; therefore, it is more oral culture-oriented than letter culture-oriented. Since oral culture is rooted in the sub-base life, it is apt to be tradition-oriented and conservative. Rumor excludes from society the person that the rumor is concerned with, while in the course of being transferred orally it is being added to and swiftly transferred backed by the collective unconsciousness for ensuring the safety of society. Jeong Yang was a poet who actively accepted rumor in his poems. He tried to grasp the substance of rumor by changing the perspective appropriately by rumor. He formulated rumor upon the experience of family history from the perspective of memory. This became even more materialized as rumor as a personal memory where a poet and a speaker are deemed identical, rumor as a collective emotion that disappears, and rumor as an social trial system. He secures an objective distance according to the features of rumor, and enhances the poetic sense of tension and reality by borrowing the rules of versification of pansori and humorous elements. In this regard, Jeong Yang should be evaluated as a poet who was consistently interested in the aspects of the change of rumor, and his effort should be evaluated as an example of realizing the varied nature of rumor successfully.
